Recommended Process for Reporting Concerns for Undergraduate Students
Have you observed a possible violation of laws, regulations, University policy, or unethical behavior? Call the Department of Public Safety at 9-1-1 or 258-1000 if you observe a violation that needs to be addressed in a time-sensitive manner. For example, call DPS for violations of University policy, such as hazing, assault, or alcohol or drug violations. You can call DPS without providing your name.
If you have a concern about a policy violation that is not a time-sensitive matter or for other violations that have already occurred, you should contact your ADSL (assistant dean for student life) ). If you feel uncomfortable with this approach, or you want to remain anonymous, you may submit a report to the Princeton University Ethicspoint Hotline. Submit a report online or via telephone at 1-866-478-9804.
Anonymous, multi-lingual and 24/7 services are available through the Hotline, administered by a third-party provider. If you are reporting a potential violation that has already occurred, it is helpful if you can provide as many details as possible about the date and location of the incident, the names of the individuals involved (and the names of those who may not have been involved but may have information about what occurred), and any relevant photos, social media posts and/or texts, emails or other communications. It is also helpful if you can check the system a few days later to see whether any questions have been posted by the University officials/administrators reviewing your report.
